Some former members of a multi-level marketing (MLM) company known as QNet have vowed to do anything in the power to save other people from joining.
Over the years, Ghana has witnessed the influx of MLM companies which turn out to be not-so-rewarding after a short period of time.
Following the collapse of the popular gold dealership company, MenzGold Ghana Limited, some Ghanaians have become knowledgeable about various pyramid schemes, however, the majority of people fall for them due to their changing methods of operations.
Some Nigerians were left stranded in Ghana after they were lured into the country for greener pastures by agents of QNet. They were since deported when the state police found out they entered the country illegally.
On the popular video-sharing app, TikTok, some individuals who claim to have been members of the QNet company have gained quite some eyeballs in their quest to cripple the Chinese-originated company.
According to the crusaders, the company lures people to spend between GHC3000 to GHC4,500 to buy products such as jewelry, home care, travel and holiday, health, personal care among others with the promise of recouping their capital in a few weeks of sales.
The victims, however, complain that the products don’t sell due to their exorbitant prices.
Their daily updates on the strategies agents of QNet use to lure people have helped their followers escape the traps.
One victim recounted that she almost slept with some random people to get back her tuition and hostel fees after she spent the money on the products thinking she would make it back before school reopens.
