Fix the Roads Now- Queen Mother tells government

The Queen Mother of Abuakwa Manhyia in the the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal of the Ashanti Region, Obaahema Tuomutuo has said her community has come far too long over the dreadful nature of roads therefore government must fast fix it with immediate effect.

“I charge you, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Amoah Awuku Michael and Member of Parliament( MP) Emmanuel Agyei Anhwire to fix our roads now; my community deserves better roads and infrastructure”. Obaahemaa Tuomutuo stated.

The Ashanti Regional minister Mr. Simon Osei Mensah said in a press conference on the state of roads in the region at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Kumasi in the 2017 that “13 road projects have been awarded on contract with about 41 also undergoing some routine maintenance”.

The period 2017 to the first quarter of 2018, he said, was to be used to lay a firm foundation for road network development; and the results of the preparation would be manifested by the close of the said year.

Yet, the roads remain detached and this has sparked chiefs and queen mothers to speak as a reminder to NPP government over their promises.

In relation to that, Obaahema Tuomutuo claims Abuakwa Manhyia is challenged with other infrastructural development but her major concern is the terrible nature of the roads.

She said government should quickly fix all the deplorable roads in the Ashanti Region because Asanateman deserves better roads and infrastructure.

She made the appeal in her speech during her installation as the Queen Mother of Abuakwa Manhyia, last Sunday.
