Five (5) passengers have died in a gory accident at Obretema near Suhum on Accra to Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region.
The accident occurred Sunday, April 11, 2021, at about 2:40pm.
Information gathered indicates that a Sprinter bus with registration number GW 7444-21 onboard by passengers from Kumasi direction towards Accra burst its rear tyre while speeding and in the process, the driver lost control of the steering wheel and somersaulted and landed into a ditch.
Three male and two female adults who were on board the bus died on the spot.
The other injured victims including the driver identified as Eric Ohemeng were rushed to Suhum Government Hospital for treatment while the dead bodies were removed and sent to the same hospital mortuary for preservation, identification, and autopsy.
