Reggae musician cum radio presenter, Blakk Rasta is asking President Akufo-Addo not to seek re-election in the 2020 elections.
According to him, the president is ageing and ought to take a step back from the presidency.
Blakk Rasta, in an interview with RTP Reggae Show Host of the Year, Blakk Kobby on 3FM, said the president should retire and spend time with his family.
“I would wish that the president will not run the next election just like Mandela, so that he will stop sleeping around and disgracing the people of Ghana.
“We beg you, Mr President, to come out like Mandela. Mandela had the chance to run again, but he said No, I’m old enough, it’s okay, let me spend time with my family.”
“At 75, you want to be voted into power again so that you will be 80 at the time that you get out of office, why do you want to maltreat the people of Ghana, why do you want to disrespect us…?” Blakk Rasta quizzed.
The reggae musician underscored the need for the president to step aside and allow young people run for the presidency.
