Former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP, Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has said he is very confident President Akufo-Addo will win the 2020 Elections.
“Exactly a year this time [January 7], Ghanaians will be ushering President Akufo-Addo and NPP Parliamentarians into office”, he opined doing his annual get-together party held for residents of Sakra Wonoo [his hometown] the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
“It is my prayer and Jesus said, if we pray and believe it, everything will work out”, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Forestry Commission told hundreds of residents gathered at the event.
Accordingly to him, “he believes it will be difficult for the NDC under Mr Mahama to portray itself as the better custodian of Ghana’s economy, especially as the country’s growth outlook is fairly strong.”
He, therefore, stated that he “expect Mr Akufo-Addo and the NPP to secure re-election in 2020.”
He said the NPP should confront the upcoming elections with all seriousness because the NDC would attack from all fronts.
According to him, the NPP stands the greatest chance to win the upcoming elections by virtue of the numerous positive policies and programmes by the government, but if they are not properly sold to the public there will be a problem for the party.
