ECG shows what to do to enjoy free/subsidised electricity (Read)

Power distribution company, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has advised customers through a press release to swipe or insert their cards into their pre-paid metres before going to the vendors to purchase their credit for the month to enable them benefit from the reliefs announced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

GOVERNMENT OF GHANA COVID-19 RELIEF
The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes to inform its
cherished customers who purchase electricity with prepaid cards
to do well to either swipe or insert their cards into their meters
before visiting vending points or ECG offices to purchase credit.

This is to enable the ECG gather accurate consumption data to
ensure a smooth implementation of the Government of Ghana
(GOG) COVID-19 Electricity Relief.

The ECG wishes to take this opportunity to remind all
customers/stakeholders that the Government Relief would
reflect as follows:

Lifeline customers shall have 100% relief of their March 2020
consumption for the months of April, May, and June, 2020.

All other customers shall receive 50% of their March, 2020
consumption for the months of April, May, and June 2020.

April benefits will be realised in May, May benefits in June,
and June benefits in July.

Customers are being advised to contact ECG District offices or
the call centre to resolve any challenge with regards to the GoG
COVID-19 electricity relief.
