Multiple Award winner E.L has slammed those who are against their efforts to revive azonto music in Ghana and has subsequently labeled such people as unpatriotic citizens.
Sarkodie and E.L have recently joined forces to resuscitate the azonto music genre which was the toast of music lovers some years back.
Amansan Krakye on GBC Radio Central in Cape Coast asked E.L in an exclusive interview what might be the motive behind the people who claim that azonto is dead and cannot be revived.
He remarked “Such people want to listen to Nigeria afrobeat. Those people are not patriotic citizens because azonto comes from Ghana.
“Saying that azonto which belongs to Ghana is dead and cannot be revived is like rejecting your own child and those people making such claims, God will surely deal with them.
“By God’s grace my azonto songs are doing well and I heard people are loving the vibes and dancing to the azonto movement.
“We’re reviving it gradually because I have been hearing more people releasing azonto songs and more notifications of azonto enthusiasts both here and abroad.
“So the thing is not a one day event because when you’re doing a good thing it takes a while and we pray Ghanaians will continue to embrace our efforts in trying to revive azonto”.
