Don’t Fall For Mahama Fictitious, Concocted And Superfluous Promises — Abronye DC

The Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has urged Ghanaians not to “fall for fictitious, concocted and superfluous promises” of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, ex-President John Dramani Mahama.

Calling for people to watch for small, verifiable details of previous promises of the NDC leader, Abronye said “Mr. Mahama is an epitome of lies and deceit” who cannot be trusted. He asserted that since the 2020 general election would go down into historical annals of Ghana as the first time an immediate past president is contesting an incumbent president, it is important to point out the differences between the two leaders.

“For this reason, for the electorate to clearly know how to decide, it is important for us to compare and contrast the records of these two persons who are seeking to carry the entire affairs of the nation on their shoulders,” he stressed.

According to him, Mr. Mahama, who is staging a comeback, in 2012, promised to put up new infectious disease management centres captured in the NDC’s manifesto at page 21 “Advancing the Better Ghana Agenda,” titled “Health For All.”

“Lo and behold, the good people of Ghana gave John Mahama the benefit of the doubt and bought this and several other unachievable promises he made, considering the fact that he was then an incumbent president. For this promise and several others, Ghanaians voted for him and the NDC at large.

“Fast forward today, it is clear that throughout the tenure of John Mahama and the NDC, they could not even construct a single disease infectious management centre. This means that they clearly deceived and played on the intelligence of Ghanaians,” he pointed out.

According to him, it is important to reiterate that “the NDC flagbearer does not take the Ghanaian people seriously and for this reason we simply can’t trust them again with our votes.”

“Fast forward again in 2020 under the distinguished leadership of the current President, Nana Addo, who made a similar promise at the infantry stage when the nation was engulfed in an unforeseen global pandemic, the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), that he will superintend the construction of an infectious disease management centre that will be constructed in a space of 100 days.”

Abronye said President Akufo-Addo was true to his word and had delivered the 100-bed infectious centre with the help of the private sector at a cost of $7.5 million.

“To conclude, fellow Ghanaians, the difference is visibly clear so don’t fall for the NDC and John Mahama’s fictitious, concocted and superfluous promises again because John Mahama is an epitome of lies and deceit,” he added.
