The people of Ghana have been instructed on the meaning of loyalty by renowned broadcaster Kwesi Kyei Darkwa, also known as KKD.
The master communicator asserts that allegiance should not be shown to people based on his experiences, particularly those from his mother.
Loyalty ought to be demonstrated toward a person’s ideals, He claims that when loved ones delegate morals, it is simpler to turn away.
My mother once told me that you shouldn’t be loyal to people. I felt she was being disrespectful because she was loyal to my father, but she insisted that she was loyal to values, and since your father upholds those values, she is loyal to him.
Therefore, it is impossible to be devoted to someone who steals, plunders, or lies. So that you can regain your devotion if the individuals you are loyal to stop upholding those ideals, he advised being loyal to truth, kindness, good leadership, and providence.
This was made clear by KKD, as he is affectionately known, in a Ghana Television interview.
If devotion is based solely on personalities, he claimed, “we would be loyal to persons in charge who are the worst thieves in our society, which will not be good for the growth of this country.”
