A member of VVIP, Reggie Rockstone, has questioned why the trio’s video for their hit song ‘Dogo Yaro’ was not nominated for Best Music Video of the Year category at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking to Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show ‘Brunch2Lunch’ on Monday, Reggie Rockstone said the music video deserved to have been nominated because it is of high quality.
He wondered what the board was looking for that they did not see in the Pascal Aka directed video to merit a nomination.
“We have worked hard the year under review and from the day I joined the group. But the Dogo Yaro music video which was not nominated is what I don’t seem to understand because that is a very good video,” he said.
“The video made the song a hit. What was the criteria they used because costume, choreography, set, directing were all on point. Trace TV chose VVIP for their next project because of that video,” Reggie Rockstone added.
The nomination list for the 2016 VGMAs which was released last Friday had the following as nominees for the Best Music Video of the Year category:
Shelele – EL
Nkontompo – Obrafour
Dumb Drum – Yaa Yaa
Girlfriend – Edem
The Warning – Teephlow
Crazy for God – Preachers
