Doctor Rescues Kaase School Kids

The renovated classroom block, the dilapidated block after the rainstorm and Dr Nana Yaw Boakye

A MEDICAL Doctor at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Nana Yaw Boakye, continues to demonstrate his generosity to the people in the Asokwa Municipality after coming to the rescue of pupils of Kaase M/A Primary School.

Dr. Boakye had earlier renovated a block of three classrooms blown-off by a storm last year.

The charitable man, touched by the plight of the pupils, donated thousands of Ghana Cedis to ensure that the school children, who were relocated to an overcrowded classroom, return to their learning space.

This was after appeals for the three-classroom block to be fixed by authorities yielded no result, leaving management of school in a helpless situation.

Headmistress, Madam Dela Hudekpor, was overwhelmed and showered praises on the medical doctor.

“We went to city authorities and many prominent people for support, but none of them came to our rescue. Today, we have a new block renovated at the cost of Dr Nana Boakye. What can we say: we are so grateful to him,” she stated.

Dr Boakye said his immediate reaction when he heard about the plight of the school was to look into ways to remedy the situation, added that not only the affected students suffered, but those who shared their classrooms with them.

According to him, the contribution he makes to his communities is to encourage others to take up the challenge to address societal problems through volunteerism.

“We are doing our part. Other people should see this and emulate these kinds of gesture to improve our society without waiting for government,” he noted.
