The ‘Gringo’ hit song composed by Shatta Wale under the Zylofone Music Label really made music lovers jam to it because of its unique blend of both local and foreign languages and lyrical stuff – the Pidgin, Ga, Patois, etc.
However, was Gringo the bonafide intellectual property of Shatta Wale? Well, it is being alleged that it was initiated by a then close friend of Shatta, who goes by the name – Kamelyeon.
According to rumourmongers, the buddies were closest friends for decades and reportedly did various songs together, but the only one which was released is the popular “Borga B3 Ba”.
From the anonymous account of Kamelyeon’s aide, as friends, Shatta made several promises to him which he allegedly refused to honour, but rather ended up allegedly “stealing” most of his lyrics and style, which he later rebranded, perfected and sold out as hits.
In view of this, Kamelyeon left in disappointment and took to real hustling on the streets.
Kamelyeon has decided to put all the alleged issues behind him in order to push forward.
During this lockdown, the artiste has indicated that the citizenry ought to comply with the precautionary measures and stay strong, for there are quite memorable days ahead.
He wrote:
“As God’s children, HE will never leave us all and will keep us from this deadly coronavirus.
Very soon, I will be releasing my new CORO SONG”.
