Muslims across the country have been thrown into a state of mourning as the second leader of the followers of Islamic religion in the country, Sheikh Ahmad Kamaludeen, was reported dead.
Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Ahmad Kamaludeen, died in the early hours of Saturday, 28 September 2019, aged 103.
In line with Islamic tradition, a short funeral ceremony was held the same day and National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, a close friend of the deceased, led prayers at the ceremony.
The remains of the Islamic Cleric was later buried at the Awudome Cemetery following a long procession of Muslims who came to pay their last respect to the Islamic Scholar.
