The Convention People’s Party has rejected the candidature of Onzy Nkrumah, a Presidential hopeful in the party’s presidential race.
Communication Director of the party, Kadri Abdul Rauf Issifu, said Mr Nkrumah was disqualified because he failed to meet the set rules governing the contest.
“The rule that the party set is that; for you to file, you must either bring your money in cash or through Banker’s Draft. Unfortunately, he presented a cheque. The time that he presented the cheque, it was also close to (end) of nominations”.
The party is to vet four persons for the flagbearer race. These include former party Chair, Samia Yaba Nkrumah; former presidential aspirant, Bright Akwetey; Joseph Agyapong and former General Secretary, Ivor Greenstreet have managed to stay in the race.
