COVID-19:We are grateful for the incentives but we need PPEs

Yesterday,5th April,2020,President of the Republic Of Ghana,Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo in delivery on his updates to combat Corona Virus gave incentives to front line workers that is health officials and all others helping to fight Corona Virus.

The president gave health workers a tax holiday for three months .I.e April,May June and also enjoy 50% allowance on their basic wage.In addition, they will enjoy free ride in the Ayalolo buses to take them to and fro in order to boost their morale to work harder.

Commenting on the measures, GMA President Frank Ankobea told Francis Abban on the Morning Starr that although their morale has been boosted by the open commendation by the President, the PPEs are in urgent need

“I will like to commend the president and government for the measures they have taken and package for us. When you doing something and your president acknowledges you it gives you morale to do more.

“We are grateful for that incentive but all we ask is that they should give us the PPEs…there is a challenge with PPEs distribution and I’m sure the ministry knows it. All we are saying is that ‘let us get the PPEs’,” he said.

As at this moment, the health officials are seriously in need of the PPEs and urges the government to provide no sooner.
