Ghanaians in the era of the coronavirus pandemic will now enjoy free charges on mobile money transactions as president restricts movement in some parts of the country which is likely to affect the country’s economy.
“Mobile money users can send up to GHC 100 for free and 100% up to 300% increase in the daily transactions limits for mobile money transactions”, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured in his 4th Address to the nation
The president’s assurance comes as part of government’s relief measures to ease hardship in the country during the time the country struggling to fight the deadly
Currently, charges on transaction for mobile money of an hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 100) still stands at GHC 1.
As at the morning of 27th March 2020, a total of fifty-seven (57) cases including three (3) deaths have been confirmed from the regular surveillance systems. All the three (3) cases that unfortunately succumbed to the disease were aged and had underlying chronic medical conditions. All the other fifty-four (54) cases are well; fourteen (14) are being managed at home and the rest are responding well to treatment on admission in isolation. They are awaiting their test results and will be discharged when the results are negative.
