Coronavirus : Slovakia Reintroduced Border Checks With Four Schengen Countries

The border checks with these Schengen member countries will be in place until April 17, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

Exempt from this measure will be the transport of goods during Easter. The Ministry of Interior decided to enable entry to the country for all trucks in Slovakia, on all highways and roads, for 10, 12 and 13 April.

Slovakia has affixed signs to the entrances of the territory for border crossing points, indicating truck drivers the possibility of using Green Lines (used by police to allow internationals cross border transport for essential purposes).

Last month, Slovakia banned from entering for all foreigners, except citizens of Poland. An Interior Ministry official said that “no foreign citizens will be allowed to enter Slovakia”, adding “at the border crossings with Poland, only Polish citizens will be allowed to enter the country.”

Slovakia has confirmed 581 coronavirus infections, while 2 persons have died, so far.

The government of Slovakia listed the fronter crossing points where the citizens will be eligible to pass through.
