Contracts for sale exposé: I’ll expose Manasseh over GH¢1k bribe – Kennedy Agyapong

Whereas Ghanaians including some leading members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) praising investigative journalist, Manasseh Azuri Awuni for exposing the rot at the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), a controversial lawmaker for Assin Central is the odd one.

The NPP firebrand has jumped on the journalist and vowed to expose him at the weekend alleging he took GH¢1,000 bribe from the embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PPA, Adjenim Boateng Adjei.

He has threatened to also release video footages as well as pictures of the journalist receiving the said amount in the coming days.

“I have a full picture and video of Manasseh taking one thousand cedis bribe from the procurement Authority boss last Saturday. I will show it to Ghanaians this weekend.” He alleged on Oman Fm’s Boiling Point on Thursday night monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

In a documentary by Investigative Journalist Manasseh Azuri Awuni titled “Contracts for Sale” aired last Wednesday the PPA Boss was said to have established his own company under the name Talent Discovery Limited incorporated in June 2017 which has won a number of government contracts through restrictive tendering.

From excerpts of the 46-minute documentary, it also emerged that the company was engaged in the sale of contracts and was ready to sell one worth a ¢22.3 million to a non-existent entity during an undercover investigation.

The Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have confirmed that the contracts being sold by Talent Discovery Limited are authentic contracts that have been awarded to the company. The company has had contracts with the Ghana Water Company (GWCL), Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod), Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
