Champions League Draw

Hello everybody and welcome along to this Ghanawish in English live blog of the Champions League draw, with Europe’s elite teams set to learn who they will face in the Round of 16.

Champions League Draw

Real Madrid are Spain’s only representatives in the pots, which is unusual for LaLiga Santander in recent years. Los Blancos progressed as group winners and are the reigning European champions.

The group winners were Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea, Manchester City, Napoli, Porto, Real Madrid and Tottenham, and so none of those sides can be drawn against one another.

The runners-up were Club Bruges, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Inter, RB Leipzig, Liverpool, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

As in the group stage, teams from the same country cannot play each other. Real Madrid doesn’t have this problem, since they are the only Spanish club still in the competition.
