Cathedral Will Lift The Hope Of Ghanaian When The Nation Faces Crisis – Akufo-Addo

As a result of his choice to construct the National Cathedral as a symbol of faith, President Akufo-Addo has stated that at times of adversity and disaster, people prefer to pay attention to their faith.

Speaking in Accra at the 19th Plenary Assembly of the Symposium of Episcopal Conference of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), President Akufo-Addo said that because people are turning to their faith more frequently around the world, Ghanaian Christians will be able to look to projects like the National Cathedral for inspiration when times are tough.

The president stated that if developmental needs were the only factors taken into account, there would never be a good moment to build a church, a cathedral, or any of the famous places of worship around the world in France, Italy, and the United States.

The President said in a speech yesterday that he will go with the National Cathedral project regardless of the cost or the length of time it will take because there can never be a better time to build it.

“My personal position has always been that even though the Cathedral will be a significant national institution, the expense should be mostly paid by the Christian community, with the state providing the land and initial financing to get the project off the ground,” the author said. He spoke.

“It will be a time for everyone to give gratitude to God for the favors He has given Ghana, sparing the country from the horrors of civil war, which have plagued the histories of nearly all of its neighbors, and the emergence of huge epidemics.

There has never been what may be called an appropriate period to build a cathedral, according to the histories of all the great cathedrals of the world. Usually, it has taken decades or even centuries to finish,” the President continued.
