Blow by Blow account of how 4 Northern DCEs were involved in ghastly accident

The Northern Regional Police Command has released a detailed account of how a Municipal and three District Executives were involved in a ghastly accident on Monday morning that has left them with various forms of injuries.

Police reveal that Suspect driver Karim Zakaria aged 32 years was in charge of Mercedes Benz saloon car with registration Number GC 6196-11driving from Accra heading towards Tamale with two persons on board.

On reaching a section of the road at Zanzugu-Yipala village on Tamale- Kintampo highway, he veered off his lane and collided with Nissan Patrol with registration No. GT 8465-19 driven by Ibrahim Abukari aged 27 years who was also driving from Tamale heading towards Wa in the Upper West Region.

Four persons on board included, Ahmed Abubakari Iddrisu aged 50 years who is the Zabzugu DCE; Abdulai Yakubu 51 years,  Bimbilla DCE; Mohammed Hashim Abdallah aged 48 years, the Mion DCE and Musah Issah aged 44 years, Gushiegu DCE.

All the occupants on both accident vehicles sustained serious injuries, and were rushed to the Tamale Teaching hospital for treatment where they were admitted where they were stabilized and are currently there receiving treatment.

According to Northern Regional Minister, Saifu Sa-eed, the appointees traveling to Wa in the Upper West region on a government assignment to join President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo launch the Rearing for Food and Jobs flagship programme.
