BLAME BOTH POLICE AND ROAD DEPARTMENTS OVER CURRENT ROAD ACCIDENTS IN GHANA

 

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union *(G.P.R.T.U)* Chairman in the Kwadaso municipality of Ashanti regional capital, kumasi at the sofoline branch debunks 1,921 road accident recorded by GHANA POLICE in the Ashanti region.

According to Mr Albert Boamah, he vocalize that Ghana police service in kumasi should come back with breakdowns of the Misfortunes that occurred .

He proclaimed that Ghana police can not wake up and go out and bring any figure that, that’s the road Accident that happened in Ashanti region within
the first quarter of the year.

However, Ghana highway authority, DVLA, department of Urban Roads, department of feeder Raods, are the main reason why accident are still happening in ghana.

*Police*
Police must ensure that, vehicles are well checked including both over loading.
They should desist from taken GH 5 cedis.

*Road and highway departments*

Road departments should make sure roads are fix, broken down signages are put in other to avoid accident.
He lamented that, when a new person ply the road and there are no road signs, how is he / she going to communicate with the road .

He said that, if we want to overcome accident in this country, is not only the work of Police but G.P.R.TU, department of Urban Roads , department of Feeder Roads and Ghana highway authority, so when there’s accident, Let us know the main cause of it, so that when in case there’s s misfortune, we will know how to tackle it.

Is it either poor road network, an unlicensed driver, poor maintenance of vehicles , lack of road signs like speed rump, zebra crossing, U turn points , sharp curves without roadsigns etc. He lamented.
