Bishop Bernard Nyarko was a versatile actor – Vivian Jill

Kumawood actress Vivian Jill Lawrence has described the late Bernard Nyarko as a versatile actor.

In her opinion, the Kumawood movie industry will not find another actor of his calibre.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra100.5FM’s Ayeeko Ayeeko Show on Tuesday, 5 May 2020, Vivian Jill said: “No, no, no [we won’t find any actor of his calibre]. Kwame [Bishop Nyarko]? No.  I don’t know the role which you will give to Kwame that he’ll find difficult to play. Personally, if I don’t get a script that’s very emotional, like something that’s really sorrowful, a woman who is barren, someone who’s lost their job, the challenges of life, those are the roles I play excellently. But he was versatile: if you want a man who is forceful, when it comes to comic, he was there, being a pastor, any role he could fit in.”

Bishop Nyarko was confirmed dead on Saturday, 2 May 2020 after a prolonged sickness.

Following his recent decision to quit acting and dedicate his life to spreading the word of God, Bishop Nyarko, was seen in a video telling a congregation: “I have stopped because it’s full of evil”.

“Every day, you would meet different people; every day, you would see different girls. All of them want you to become their friends and some of them are coming from the marine sea, they should take their movie,” he said.
