Rock Ma Body Ghanaian hitmaker Wiyaala has revealed that she has no competitor when it comes to stage performance stating that it is the internationally-acclaimed musicians she wants to compete with and not her colleagues in Ghana.
Comparing herself to the likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé the confident looking winner of last year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Best Female Vocal Artiste of the Year, said not even Rihanna and Beyoncé can match up her energy and craft on stage.
“I am not blowing my own horn but trust me, I have watched performances by Rihanna and Beyoncé and I believe I can do better than them. They just have big platforms. I know when I also get a big platform like theirs, I can do much better than them,” she stated.
Wiyaala first came to public attention in 2011 when she won two Golden Moments awards at TV reality show, Stars of the Future. The following year, she won the Vodafone Icons Mixed Edition contest, singing Tina Turna’s hit song, Simply the Best, as a member of the Black N Peach band. Wiyaala, a brand ambassador for Pepsi in West Africa, alongside Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage, left Black N Peach band in April 2013 to pursue a solo career with Djimba World Records.
