Some Ghanaians believe Bawumia’s digitalization system to aid the economy, which will begin in the first quarter of 2022, will do nothing except waste national resources.
Dr. Bawumia said this feature of the card will make traveling simple for Ghanaians in the diaspora while speaking in Accra on improving Ghana’s economy through digitalization.
“The Ghana Card will be accepted as an e-Passport in 179 countries by the end of the first quarter of 2022,” he said.
“Once this is completed, Ghanaians in the diaspora would no longer require a visa to return to Ghana,” he added.
“The Ghana Card is an e-Passport to confirm the identity of travelers and it will be given to new born babies as well.
