Bawumia commissions Ghana’s first medical drone

Early this morning, the Vice president of the Republic of Ghana, his excellency Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia commissioned Ghana’s first medical drone.

In a post the veep posted on his social media timeline, he asserted that the unmanned drones will find it way to remote areas where cars find it difficult to reach on time to save lifes.

“I commissioned Ghana’s first medical drone delivery centre at Omenako in the Eastern Region.

The centre which is 100% operated by Ghanaians will provide a response to medical emergencies, especially in hard to reach areas, through the flying of unmanned drones to supply 12 routine and emergency services as well as 148 lifesaving medical products” . He said

He then added that ” This is part of many innovations adopted by Government to improve access to health care to deprived and hard-to-reach communities and strategy to eradicate hardships in health delivery”

And upon concluding he touched on how quick people die because of late of blood/drug to cure them

“Not a single Ghanaian, irrespective of his or her remoteness, deserves to die due to inaccessibility to emergency health care”. Veep added
