Spanish giants FC Barcelona are planning a swoop for Ghana defender, Gideon Baah.
The Catalans according to reports are in search for a backup for Spanish international Jordi Alba who has failed to recover after sustaining an injury.
Reports however indicate that Baah remains a major target for the World Champions who are ready to lure him from his Club HJK Helsinki.
The 24-year-old caught the interest of the Spanish Champions following his inspiring performance for his Club in the Finnish top-flight.
The former Asante Kotoko left-back has been able to make 16 appearances for the Finnish Champions so far this season.
The defender despite his impressive form have been overlooked by Black Stars coach Avram Grant who only handed him a call-up in Ghana’s international friendly with Canada in October last year.
A move to Barcelona would certainly earn him an opportunity in the Black Stars team.
The player meanwhile has attracted interest from some Spanish Clubs who are eager to beat off a challenge from Barcelona to secure the signature of the defender.
Baah is a product of the MTN Soccer Academy where he shot to fame after winning the maiden edition of the reality show just months after completing his tertiary education at the Accra Polytechnic.
