The Governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Firebrand and Maverick Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has labeled the Socialist ideology of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as one that breeds corrupt politicians and lazy supporters.
According to him, members of the NDC per their political ideology always sit aloof and expect government to solve and provide their basic necessities as compared to their counterparts in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who adhere to the Capitalist ideology that spurs them on to own property and do things for themselves.
On his own Net 2 TV Wednesday morning, he was speaking on how the NDC and its functionaries mounted an unflinching campaign against the Free SHS policy at the time it was the headline of the NPP campaign in the 2016 electioneering period, but have turned out to be the biggest beneficiaries when the programme was eventually rolled out since 2017.
He says should the Free SHS policy collapse, members of the NPP would be able to pay for their wards through school, but the NDC would suffer to do same, because comparably, persons in the NPP do well in almost all aspects of life than those in the NDC.
“NDC, most of them are so lazy and those who are not lazy are criminals; they dupe the country and indoctrinate the lazy ones to go and march; anybody who thinks that everything must be done for them by the government will not succeed in life”, he said
“The Socialist Ideology has had a very serious impact on Ghana; it’s part of why NDC has destroyed Ghana and does not deserve to be voted for ever again. And that ideology that everything should be done by the government is what makes them lazy because they always want handouts; and their leaders always want the NDC supporters, with all due respect to them, to be stupid and ignorant, so they are able to indoctrinate them that something like the Free SHS policy is not good for them”, he explained.
