The Black Stars of Ghana are set to play the Super Eagles of Nigeria for a place in the 2022 World Cup. After weeks of bashing for hiding the list from Ghanaians, the Ghana Football Association has finally released the 27 man squad for the two legged qualifiers.
Notable names like Danlad Ibrahim of Kotoko and Jonathan Mensah were all excluded despite in top form. Another name missing from the list is highly rated midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru. His exclusion caused so much anger to Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan that he bared his teeth to the GFA.
According to Asamoah Gyan, apart from Thomas Partey of Arsenal, Majeed Ashimeru is the best Ghanaian midfielder. He said he has been quite on call ups but these things must stop.
Other midfielders such Kofi Kyere, Edmund Addo, Kudus Mohammed and Baba Iddrisu have all been called up for the encounter.
