Some traders in the Asafo market in the Kumasi metropolis have stated they suspect arson in the recent Fire outbreak that claimed properties amounting to millions of Ghana cedis.
According to them they suspect that the market was deliberately set ablaze by some unknown individuals .
They explained that the deadly fire started from two different places at the same time 24 hours after a similar fire had been repelled by fire service officials, a situation they described as abnormal.
Although the actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertain by fire officials, some of the traders at are saying the cause of the fire was not a natural occurance.
Fire swept through parts of the Asafo market last Friday and Sunday destroying over 400 shops and 20 stores.
Speaking to Otec news Kwame Agyenim Boateng Nana Kokooto some of the traders who couldn’t contain their emotions said they operated their businesses with loans and didn’t know how they were going to pay off those loans
