Ghana ace Andre Ayew ended his two-month goal drought after netting in Swansea City’s 4-2 loss at home to Sunderland in the English Premier League on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old scored his seventh goal of the season after giving Swansea a 2-1 lead in the 40th minute.
The Ghanaian international had earlier won a penalty for his side after he was fouled in the 18-yard box Sunderland defender John O’Shea.
Gylfi Thor Sigurdhsson made no mistake by converting his kick to cancel out Jemain Defoe’s 3rd minute goal for Sunderland.
Ayew got his name on the score sheet after receiving a long ball from his goalkeeper Fabiański, took on a solo run and outwitted his maker to shot the ball into the far bottom corner of the post to put his side in the lead.
Dutch defender Patrick Van Aanholt pulled parity for the home team before Defoe grabbed two more goals for the visitors in the 61st and 85th minutes to ensure Swansea City suffered their 10thdefeat of the season.
