Sylvester Tetteh, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, has boasted that President Akufo-Addo has done better than any previous president of Ghana.
According to the lawmaker, President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo would have been the finest President Ghana has ever had since the Fourth Republic if the once flashy economy had not been impacted by foreign causes.
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the COVID-19 epidemic, he said, had broken the President’s good intentions during a conversation on Accra’s Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning program.
Any opponent of Mr. Tettey would have to face a discussion from the man himself.
“If it hadn’t been because of COVID and Russia/Ukraine war that have upset our economic gains, I haven’t seen anybody under the Fourth Republic who has performed excellently like Nana Addo.
“And these are things that I dare anybody to come to the table, let’s discuss it,” he brags.
The NPP member, on the other hand, recognized the country’s challenges and asked Ghanaians to have trust in President Mahama to reverse the tide.
For Ghanaians, I’ll make a strong plea: ‘It’s the same hands that brought us from low growth GDP to 7.3 percent growth with the IMF,’ he said “, he tried to get the court to reconsider.
According to Mr. Tettey, “As long as there is a government in place that has a good aim for our nation, we must return to the fundamentals and enlist the support of our technocrats. Change can only be achieved via a national conversation.
