Akufo-Addo Has Collapsed Many Businesses In Ghana – Amoako Baah

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been informed that “your motto of promoting the private sector for growth has been undercut by recent political actions through your policies.”

Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, a political scientist and ardent member of the NPP, made the aforementioned claim in a speech he gave to some listeners in Kumasi on Ultimate 106.9 FM.

According to the former lecturer, recent market reactions to the devalued cedi and the unheard-of negative economic developments under an NPP government have validated the NPP’s lack of commitment to acting as a government that supports the private sector.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong cited recent accusations from certain Kumasi business-people and a prominent NPP cabinet member who had lost enormous sums of money as evidence, noting that this cast doubt on the NPP’s ideologies.

“If your money was not saved in dollars you are in great problem now,” he warned. “Kennedy Agyapong was stating he has lost fifty million dollars through the depreciation of the currency, so many business-people devastated, you didn’t buy anything in a short period all your investments is gone.”

“The terrible part is that we don’t yet know what is going to happen; they stated there would be no haircut, but it is headed our way; they claim treasury bills won’t be impacted; do you believe them? Now, I worry about businesses. They need to realize that this is not a one-man job and must enlist the assistance of many more people. How should we proceed, stakeholders on board? The ratings agencies are still downgrading Ghana today, and this will have an impact, he noted.
