The national youth organizer for the largest opposition party in the country, the National Democratic Congress, NDC, George Opare Addo (Pablo) has waded into the predictions of Economic Intelligence Unit for predicting the victory of NPP in the 2020 elections and has asserted that the Akufo-Addo led NPP government will not be in position to form the next republic of Ghana contrary to the EIU report.
According to him, the economic indicators in Ghana largely speak for the fact and he added that the EIU has not been credible in previous predictions especially predicting victory for NPP in the 2008 elections where the late prez Mills won.
In a phone interview with Nana Kwabena Addo on the Susubiribi Morning Show on Radio 1FM 100.7MHZ on Monday 16th September 2019, the able former appointee under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama said now that transportation fares are on the increase, fuel prices hike, security threat in the country increase, there is no way the NPP government can retain power come 2020.
“The EIU predicted the victory for NPP in 2008 but the late former prez Mills won. As a party in opposition we will work hard to win 2020 election and I can tell you for a fact, Akufo-Addo will not form the next republic of Ghana in January 7 2021,” Opare revealed.
However, he added that the report will propel the NDC party to work hard in returning to power in 2021.
