Akufo-Addo cannot be forced to act on Short Commission report – Eugene Arhin

The director of communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin, has disclosed that President Akufo-Addo will not be pressured into taking a decision about the report from the Emile Short Commission.

His statement follows calls for action following the presentation of the report on the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election to the president.

YEN.com. gh understands that the demand for action comes after portions of the recommendations were published by media platforms under the EIB network.

The report among other strong recommendations urged the President to reprimand the minister of state at the presidency in charge of national security to also disband the SWAT team of the national security.

“The Commission recommends that Bryan Acheampong be reprimanded for his ultimate responsibility as minister in authorising an operation of that character and on a day of an election in a built up area,” the report said.

Per a Starrfm.com. gh report, Arhin said the president is still studying the report and will act at within the time granted by the constitution.
