Ghana has been considered as football nation over the years now base on the successes the nation has been benefited through football activities. Mostly some of the youth has the passion and the talent to play football but financial situations always become obstacles for them to exhibit the potentials of been a players.
Besides football games has been tip as one of the activities organized to unite and entertain people especially the youth whenever there is a choas and misunderstanding.
Base on these circumstances some of the youth, energetic and talented players go through, a successful man and philanthropist who is an indigene of Bekwai Asokore in the Bekwai Municipal of Ashanti is to organize a football gala for the people in the Municipal and it’s environs.
It is a novelty program but will be an annual event which is set to begins on 24th of August 2019 with participating teams from 34 electoral areas zoned into 8 groups. Each group comprising at least four teams each.
Eight (8) teams that top top each group after the preliminary group matches qualify for the next knockout stage. Four (4) teams will be eliminated and qualified for semi finals to choose eventual finalists and their place respectively.
The tournament will features 32 teams in eight zones from the Municipal and the group stages matches are to be played at Abodom, Kokofu, Bekwai, Bogyawe, Adankragya, Anwiankwata, Poano and Dominase respectively
The Knockout will be hosted at Poano, Semi finals will take off at Abodom and the finals will be either Bekwai/Dominase.
Speaking with the coordinator of the event, Mr Seth Amoako explained that the whole event is solely financed by Lawyer Kwasi Amofa Agyeman, a native of Bekwai Asokore.
Apart from fostering good relations amongst the towns, it’s also to discover and unearth the untapped budding football talents in the Municipal and for the youths to use the platform to launch their careers in football.
“All the participatory teams will get a sets of jerseys before the commencement of the gala”.
The coordinator reveals that, the winner of the tournament will take home Ghc5000, 2nd place (Silver) will be having Ghc3000 and the 3rd place will take Ghc2000.
He said there is going to be a free and fair officiating from the class one referee at all the stages and the security will also assured at the venues hosting the games.
Lawyer Kwasi Amofa Agyeman is willing to register Bekwai name in public domain for organizing such event which is the first of it kind in the entire Municipal so the people need to patronize it to gain vivid publicity.
According to Seth Amoako, this soccer gala seeks to strengthen the unity among the youth and people and bring to their consciousness to the need for growth and development in the Municipal.
