AG’s Office Takes Over Owusu Bempah’s Threat Of Death Case Docket

The trial of Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah and six others for threatening to kill Patricia Oduro Koranteng, also known as Nana Agradaa, has been delayed after the Attorney-office General’s requested that the original case docket be removed.

The Glorious Word Power Ministry’s General Overseer and six others have been charged with 11 counts, with the trial set to begin today.

“We cannot proceed with trial today based on some happenings,” prosecutor Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey stated in court on Thursday, March 3, 2022, when the case was summoned.

According to him, the head of prosecution for the Ghana Police Service’s Accra Region has asked him to inform the court that the case docket has been called for examination and advice by the Attorney-office. General’s

The prosecutor informed the court, “As we speak, the original docket is in the office of the Attorney-General, and as a result, I cannot proceed.”

As a result, he requested that the hearing be adjourned so that he could obtain further instructions from the prosecutor on how to proceed.

The matter was therefore adjourned until March 24, 2022, by the court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Evelyn Asamoah.

Nana Agradaa, the complainant, was in court for the first time, according to EIB Network’s Court Correspondent.

All of the defendants were in court as well.

Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, the General Overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministry, and six others – Mensah Ofori, Bright Berchie, Kwabena Nyarko nicknamed Matata, Nana Acheampong, Nana Brown, and Kwame Amoh – have all been charged.

They’ve all pled not guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit offensive behavior conducive to the breach of peace, offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace, threat of death, and conspiracy to commit threat of death.

Each of them has been granted bail in the amount of GHc100,000.
