The recent heavy downpour of rain in Kumasi, Ashanti Region has done more damage than good. Looking at the picture, the flood has taken over the poultry farmer’s farm rendering all the fowls dead. This is really sad at the point that most businesses are bouncing back after one year of a global pandemic.
But the most shocking thing on social media is some Ghanaians have started pointing hands at the incumbent administration, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his associates for this natural occurrence. The questions are: Should the government be blamed for this? What role does the government play in ensuring that floods do not destroy citizens’ poultry farms? Is this the first time that the poultry farmer experiencing this flood?
These are many questions that some Ghanaians are asking after coming across this sad report. Some argued that government should be blamed because this is the time that Ghanaians are hearing flooding report in Kumasi. The government must take necessary to create a proper drainage system in Kumasi to avoid some of this occurrence.
Checking the image below carefully, it appears the flood overtook the poultry farmer by surprise resulting in a huge investment loss. Some Ghanaians also argued that the poultry farmer should have set up the business at a place free from flooding. This is probably not his first time experiencing this flooding but maybe not as severe as this.
