A National Security apparatus that can’t find three missing Takoradi girls, hunting journalists anyhow without purpose – Ablakwa

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu constitution, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has lashed out at the National Security in the country.

According to him, instead of the National Security doing the needful in finding the three missing Takoradi girls, it has turned itself into a machine use in hunting and torturing journalists who’s reportage doesn’t fall in line with government.

“I cannot comprehend how a national security apparatus that cannot locate our three missing Takoradi girls for many months and that cannot submit it’s annual reports to Parliament without a tussle would think that raiding press houses and subjecting journalists to such dehumanizing treatment should be a cause worth pursuing.”

In a lengthy Facebook post, Mr Ablakwa promised to raise the issue of the National Security misconduct in Parliament at the slightest opportunity he gets.

“National security can be assured that some of us will bring up their unacceptable conduct in Parliament at the earliest opportunity.”

I long became aware that abduction, torture and rendition had regrettably become available weapons of choice by the current national security apparatus when I closely followed the condemnable predicament of the abducted Lebanese businessman Mahran Baajour. The UK based Arab Organisation for Human Rights continues to investigate Baajour’s ordeal in Ghana.

In the circumstances; like many, it is difficult for me to believe the feeble unsigned denial of this same National Security and doubt the rather convincing account of ModernGhana editor, Emmanuel Ajafor Abugri.

I cannot comprehend how a national security apparatus that cannot locate our three missing Takoradi girls for many months and that cannot submit it’s annual reports to Parliament without a tussle would think that raiding press houses and subjecting journalists to such dehumanizing treatment should be a cause worth pursuing.

National security can be assured that some of us will bring up their unacceptable conduct in Parliament at the earliest opportunity.

The Gestapo closure of radio stations; assassination, intimidation and harassment of journalists must all STOP.

This must not be happening in our celebrated Ghana and silence cannot be an option.

Tyranny shall be defeated!
