35 Out of the 231 Ghanaian deportees have tested positive for COVID-19

Reports have just came public stating that 35 Ghanaians who were abroad in Kuwait have tested positive for the pandemic coronavirus. This was confirmed by the Ghana Health Service.

These 35 individuals who have contracted the virus represent 15% of the total amount of the total number which is 231. Apparently, when they were deported from Kuwait, the government took them to the coronavirus testing facilities.

But this was fortunate for Ghanaians because before they arrived in Ghana, Ghanaian officials were told that they did not have the virus. Upon performing the first test and second, they realized 35 of them had the virus.

The current of Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service told the press: “We haven’t finished with the testing of all the people that we took samples from. There are indications that some of them are positive [for COVID-19]…We will follow up on this and when we have the full report, we will share this report appropriately”
