A former Tiger Air flight attendant who had sex with a 15-year-old boy has been released on bail after spending only one week in jail.
Melissa Nosti, from North Ryde in northern Sydney, had sex with a student at the school she used to work at as an attendance officer back in 2010.
The 33-year-old was last week sentenced to 18 months’ jail with a six month non-parole period after pleading guilty but has since been released on bail.
The 33-year-old spent one week in jail and has since been released on bail after her lawyer lodged an appeal
She appeared at Burwood Local Court via video from Silverwater Women’s cells on Wednesday after her lawyer lodged a bail appeal.
Her lawyer told the court that Nosti was at ‘low risk’ of reoffending according to a doctor’s report and was successful in gaining employment.
‘She has had an employment history after this. She was in the airline industry,’ the lawyer said, Daily Telegraph reported.
Magistrate Susan Horan said a victim impact statement from Nosti’s victim was ‘compelling’ before granting her bail.
Her bail conditions including owning one mobile phone and to give the password to police when asked, not allowed to contact the victim, not contact anyone or being the company with anyone who is under the age of 16, and live in her Ryde address.
Nosti will appear at Sydney’s District Court for an appeal hearing later in the year.
