A 22-years old man Akwesi Mensah has stabbed his father to death at Assin Manso in the Assin South District of the Central Region Friday night.
The suspect who’s said to be mentally challenged subsequently turned himself in to the police.
An eye witness explaining what happened told Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan that the suspect was staying with his mother but was brought to his father to be taken to the hospital for medical examination a few days ago. But he’s said to have insisted he’ll not go to the hospital.
His father reportedly drugged him to sleep and took his blood sample to the Ankaful Hospital for medical examination.
But the suspect after waking up and realizing what his father had done to him became very angry.
He’s said to have stormed the corn mill where his father works as an operator and armed with a knife started stabbing his father at his back and later in his chest several times.
According to the eye witness, since they were all ladies in the corn mill at the time of the incident they were terrified and helpless and could not save the deceased.
She said all they could do was to run out and call for help but the man died before they got help.
Akwesi left the murder scene immediately, but reported reported himself to the Manso Police Station and now in Police custody assisting investigations.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Assin Fosu Government Hospital Mortuary.
