20-year-old man killed in broad daylight shooting

A 20-year old man was shot dead in Staten Island on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The victim was discovered by police with a gunshot wound to the head just before 4 p.m. on Park Hill Avenue near Sobel Court in Park Hill, authorities said.

Investigators believe the man was shot on Sobel Court before staggering around the block and collapsing, sources said.

The suspected gunman fled the scene after the shooting. No arrests have been made as of late Tuesday.

Last Wednesday night, 25-year-old Brandon Maharaj allegedly gunned down his mom’s 48-year-old boyfriend, Roger Thompson, in front of their Bradley Avenue home in the Meiers Corners section of the borough, police said.

Maharaj is facing murder and weapons possession charges.

Tuesday’s deadly shooting marks Staten Island’s third homicide of 2020.
