Gabby Otchere Darko, a key member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claims that Ghana’s first president, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, could not achieve a fraction of what President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is accomplishing with the One District One Factory (1D1F) plan.
The Akufo-Addo-led NPP government’s industrial reform program includes the One District One Factory initiative.
According to Gabby, the effort is the largest factory launch in Ghana and the Gold Coast’s history.
“This is the largest factory rollout in the history of Ghana and the Gold Coast,” he said in a tweet. In his 9 years since independence, not even Nkrumah managed a fraction of this. Better yet,

Meanwhile, the government has expressed optimism that the 1D1F will contribute to the reduction in inflation rate in Ghana.
A Deputy Minister of Finance, Abena Osei-Asare said with the factories coming on stream, the rate of import will drop because most of the materials are going to be produced locally to support the economy.
