19-years old boy sentenced to 6 years in prison for burning police station

Kwaku Duah, the 19 year old boy currently in the police custody for setting up the police station. The court was presided over by his lordship Charles Kwesi Acheampong at Asunafo South District.

The accused, according to the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Truth Kofi Hukporti, the accused intentionally set a tricycle parked at the police station on fire on purpose which later caught up the police station in question also on fire.

His quest to revenge has landed him in a big trouble.

The accused pleaded guilty to all the charges leveled against him and ask the court to temper justice with mercy, but his plea was overruled. The court found him guilty based on his on plea and sentenced him to six years in prison with hard labor.

The Goaso Circuit Court ordered Kwaku Duah to pay a compensation fee of GHC15,000 to the tricycle owner and GHC3,600 to the police station for the damages he caused by his conduct.
