Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vice Chairman for Kintampo North District in the Brong Ahafo Region, Ohene Addo aka ‘2 Paddies’ has warned President John Mahama to still hold on to the hikes in petroleum products and utility tariffs if he wants to lose this year’s election.

“I belong to the NDC and has always voted for NDC, but I am telling President Mahama from facts I have gathered that he can never win the 7th November election by still keeping the hikes in both petroleum products and utility tariffs,” he told Peace FM News in an interview.

According to him, the new hikes have made life very difficult leaving Ghanaians always in distress because goods and services are shooting up every second.

“ So how does the president expect his citizens to be pleased and again vote him into power?” he asked.

He noted that “it is good this government is focusing on developmental projects like; building of schools and roads, but they should also bear in mind that it is not the roads that would give us food to eat.”

He explained that President Mahama should know that he will never complete all the developmental projects this country needs, of which some Ministers have used as their means of getting money into their pockets.

“It is true that things have not been easy in this country, but it is NDC members who are suffering most,” he said.

Ghanaians were ushered into the year 2016 with an unwholesome gift from President John Dramani Mahama with a 27% hike in fuel prices but as consumers brood over the increase and find ways to adjust to the reality, some Members of Parliament and Energy Think tanks are alleging fraud has been visited on the populace by the government.
