Lady Gaga Dazzled At Golden Globes By Covering Up Her Tattoos

They say that Gentleman Prefer Blondes.

But Lady Gaga clearly believed they also prefer no tattoos after covering up her body art as she channelled silver screen icon Marilyn Monroe at the Golden Globes.

The American Horror Story: Hotel favourite looked as elegant as ever as she posed up on the red carpet at the glittering awards ceremony and toured the post-show party circuit following her win in the best actress – miniseries or television film category

But the most striking element of her look was what was missing – her seventeen tattoos, mostly located on various parts of the left side of her body, had been covered up and hidden with makeup.

The 29-year-old warbler, real name Stefani Germanotta, was aided by top artist Mike Mekash who worked with her on American Horror Story.

He used acrylic and adhesive based makeup called PAX to achieve the look, in effect temporally tattooing over her designs, and said on Facebook: ‘The covers I did looked great on the red carpet and on stage when she WON! And for 99% of the press photos.’

His work certainly allowed her to achieve the 50s glamour girl look she was going for, with the Born This Way favourite shamelessly apeing classic sexpot Marilyn as she hammed it up for the excited photographers.

The good Lady has seventeen tattoos, and previously admitted she got them on her left side after her father begged her yo keep one side of her body ‘slightly normal’.

As she breathlessly delivered her speech on Sunday she highlighted her knowledge of film by saying: ‘I feel like Cher in that John Patrick Shanley movie Moonstruck.

‘This is one of the greatest moments of my life…I am really and truly speechless.’

She also confessed she had ‘wanted to be an actress before a singer, but music worked out first.’

Gaga beat off the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Felicity Huffman and Queen Latifah to take the win.
