Unheralded Chinese side Meixian Techand have lavished their players with a staggering bonus of £3million each for winning promotion.
The players understandably grinned from ear to ear as they posed for photos with a mound of cash, some clutching onto their own wedge.
Following their 1-0 win (3-1 aggregate) over Shenzhen Ledman, the little-known club secured promotion to League One, the second tier of football in China.
And the squad have been richly rewarded with an early Christmas bonus most could only dream of.
The financial reward is even more jaw-dropping considering the team are not even in the Chinese Super League.
None of the 30 players in the squad are foreign imports, with the entirety of the staff coming from China.
The club are based in a region of Guangdong and play in the 20,221 capacity Meixian Tsang Hin-chi Stadium.
And the owners made good on their promise of bonuses to players, with the majority stakeholder having made his fortune in engineering and construction.
No doubt Meixian will be hungry for further success and one can only imagine the prize in store for reaching the Chinese Super League.
