Nana Addo Must Stop The Bogus Criticism

Amass Ghana has revisited political history and wish to pinpoint that, our politicians wants nothing good for our mother land but for their own selfish desire.

History has it that, Osaagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was criticized on several occasions and latter backstabbed, our one time ceremonial president, Edward Akuffo-Addo suffered the same criticism, the perceived to be Junior Jesus, Jerry John Rawlings wasn’t spared either, Grandpa John Agyekum Kuffour was bitterly criticized and now, in turns is the first gentle man of the land His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the NDC administration.

Criticism is futile because it puts a person on the defensive and usually makes him strive to justify himself. Criticism is dangerous, because it wounds a person’s precious pride, hurts his sense of importance, and arouses resentment.

Amass Ghana is of the view that, if politicians would batter-trade criticism with appraisal, Ghana will be at a better place than where it is today.

It looks like every opposition party resort to critics, with the hope that, it will taint the party in power in other for them to amass votes but we must say, Ghanaians are discerning and have grown pass the stone age.

Criticism never worked in the early centuries and is going to do the 21st century born no good because we have had an interesting correspondence with Lewis Lawes, who was warden of New York’s infamous Sing Sing prison for many years and he declared that, few of the criminals in Sing Sing regard themselves as bad men. They are just as human as you and I.

They rationalize, they explain. They can tell you why they had to crack a safe or be quick on the trigger finger. Most of them attempt by a form of reasoning, fallacious or logical, to justify their antisocial acts even to themselves, consequently stoutly maintaining that they should never have been imprison at all.

Amass Ghana believes that, if Al Capone, “Two Gun” Crowley, Dutch Schultz all notorious criminals and the desperate men and women behind prison walls don’t blame themselves for anything, what about the people with whom you and I come in contact?

We remember when ex-president Kuffour’s administration was hijacked by the then opposition National Democratic Congress tainting it to look like the most ugly and worst performing government of all times demanding that Ghanaians vote for change and lo and behold Ghanaians heeded to their calls for change because that was what we were brainwashed to believe.

It wasn’t change that Ghanaians needed; we needed somebody, someone who could continue the legacy, hence, voting for the NDC.

We also recall that, the late professor Attah Mills suffered horrible criticism from the opposition New Patriotic Party and some even capitalized on his health issues.

It was these same NPP pundits who were singing praises for the dead, stressing that, he was better-off H.E. John Mahama and will be remembered for his kind gesture and his humanitarian nature, so why did they wait for his demise before the good tags?

The drums for change have started beating in the ears of Ghanaians again. We are made to believe that ex-president J.A. Kufour did the unprecedented, so is there a guarantee that; this same politicians wont brainwash us again to believe that President Mahama was the best of all?

No, they will come again and again singing from the same hymn book, criticizing the government of the day… we are sure Ghanaians have learnt their lessons very well and they will not allow themselves to be toss by any political party just for their selfish interest.

Amass Ghana was amused to have an overview of the other side of the coin, when Nana Addo Danquah, flag bearer of the NPP furnished Ghanaians what he believes to be the real state of the nation’s address.

He did due diligence to what he presented but still nothing has changed, Accra is still Accra, John Mahama is still the president, the farmer living in Akyem-Aboabo trading cassava for a living is still the same farmer, in fact money is nothing to a cockroach… what at all is gained from criticism, if not for our own parochial interest?

Nana Addo has on countless occasions said, he wants to serve Ghanaians and deliver us from the incompetent Mahama led administration, and so in case we push him with our votes to the flagstaff house, won’t he be updating his CV, after all he will have H.E. as a title. Won’t he be enjoying all the trips to overseas, besides every president go tripping. Won’t he be enjoying comfortably in luxurious convoys at the expense of the tax payers monies etc.? Politicians will always try to play God, consequently, playing on our intelligence but like we said, Ghanaians are discerning and have grown pass the stone age.

Amass Ghana thinks instead of jabbing the government in the throat, if not for any selfish reasons; then Nana Addo and his cohorts could have resorted to appraisal and for that Ghanaians would have voted for him for the man he was than the man he is now.

There is a perception that Nana Addo and the NPP are hungry for power, 8 years in opposition is enough, another 4 years is what they can’t afford hence, they are living no stone unturned and will strike down anybody who stands their way. Wont it be strange if Nana Addo starts praising the Mahama led administration, an administration he will move mountains to overthrow but that would have symbolize patriotism and Ghanaians would have love and admire him for that.

Amass Ghana agrees that, all is not well with the Mahama led administration but we can’t also say that they have done nothing but dawn on us with troubles and fake promises…,to quote Admiral Ernest J. King, he once said “if a ship has been sunk, I can’t bring it up. If it is going to be sunk, I can’t stop it. I can use my time much better working on tomorrow’s problem than by fretting about yesterdays. Besides, if I let those things get me, I wouldn’t last long.

Nana Addo Dankwah and his running mate Dr. Mahamud Bawumia have since 2008 been on the nerves of the ruling National Democratic Congress showcasing to the public their dubious deals… bravo! It’s in the interest of all Ghanaians to expose the corrupt practices of the NDC but is there nothing good that the NDC has done for our dear nation…“an animal rewarded for good behaviour will learn much more rapidly and retain what it learns far more effectively than an animal punished for bad behaviour” said, B. F Skinner, the world famous psychologist.

Amass Ghana believes that criticism do not make lasting changes and often incur resentment so once again stop the bogus criticism and go for appraisal.

Thank you.
